Enjoy a wonderful French meal on the candlelit terrace at the Bleeding Heart restaurant in the City of London

 

Although the name may suggest otherwise, Bleeding Heart is a delightfully romantic little French restaurant tucked away in Hatton Garden in the city of London. Named after the square it is located in, a historic spot where Lady Elizabeth Hatton was murdered by her jealous lover back in 1626, Bleeding Heart is the perfect dining destination in the city for a meal for two, having been voted by The Times as The City’s Most Romantic Restaurant. Step inside this charming restaurant and you’ll find a homely setting with low beamed ceilings and walls covered in old black and white pictures. There is a cosy candlelit terrace which is just perfect for dining couples. As for the menu, classics such as sirloin steak with fresh Béarnaise sauce and pommes frites or sea bream with grilled fennel sit alongside more modern creations like escargot raviolo with garlic foam or sea bass with scallop roe mousse. The chateaubriand for two is a great choice for sharing and is absolutely delicious. Bleeding Heart is well respected for its wine cellar too, offering an eclectic selection form all over the world as well as a fine choice of French classics. You’ll be hard pressed to find somewhere more authentically romantic than Bleeding Heart restaurant in this part of London.
