Open for about a month during the summertime, The Griffin Restaurant at Gray’s Inn in London takes full advantage of the stunning gardens and is a beautifully romantic place to dine. The gardens at Gray’s Inn, known as The Walks, were designed by Sir Francis Bacon in 1606 and are a veritable oasis in the city and one of the largest private gardens in the capital. Just a five minute walk from the Chancery Lane tube station, as well as offering plenty of parking facilities, The Griffin Restaurant at Gray’s Inn offers the capital’s diners a wonderful summer retreat, and is also a top destination during its one month aperture for romantic dining. Of course the five acre secluded gardens are one reason for this, but the food is pretty impressive in its own right too. There are various menus to choose from, including the fine dining menu, the gourmet menu and the buffet menu, each featuring a stunning display of dishes such as roasted sea bass with baby spinach and curried mussel velouté; tournedos of Scottish beef Rossini with creamed horseradish and seasonal root and warm chocolate fondant with fresh mint coulis and crème fraiche.
